Ultrasonic Sensors (Transducers):

The sensors (transducers) are sealed air and water tight and are not affected by condensation, humidity, fumes, splashing liquid or hose down. All are intrinsically safe.
A broad variety of transducers, used with our ultrasonic controllers, offers the best selection to suit any typical industrial application. The transducers are mounted above the highest monitored level, allowing a non-contact measurement. They are connected to the controller using a standard RG62/U coaxial cable, require no external power and, depending on model, may be remotely installed up to 400 feet from the control electronics. Supplied with 30 ft. or 40 ft. of cable, additional cable lengths may be ordered installed to avoid field splicing.

The transducers are heavy duty, hermetically sealed and available in PVC, Teflon, 316 stainless steel, or Kynar housing.

The ultrasonic signal travels perpendicular from the transducer radiating face as a narrow, cone-shaped beam. When the monitored object is within this cone, is more-less perpendicular to the signal and within the transducer operating range, it will reflect the echo back and be recognized. Since the transducer face vibrates rapidly during transmission, it is naturally self-cleaning and therefore, build-up of material on the transducer face is not expected.

Please note that transducers cannot work alone, they need the electronic control box. Transducer output is not 4-20 mA current or some voltage. There are no electronic components inside transducers, this makes them more resistant to corrosion, there is nothing to corrode.

Selection Suggestion:

Select transducers by its range (for tanks less than 15 feet high, or more than 15 feet high) and the transducer material for best corrosion resistance.
